Can incredibly painful sex be a symptom or side affect of genital hsv1? No outbreak or other symptoms present.

I would get to the gynecologist to discuss your pain rather than assume it is due to HSV.

It could be various things. Vaginismus, other STIs, HSV, Yeast can be reasons why sex is painful.

I had cysts on my ovaries that made intercourse painful. Like a unpleasant pressure

Thanks guys. I wasn't just assuming hsv but I thought I remembered reading it somewhere, but am currently in too much pain too research so I came here. I'll be making an appointment asap. It's been well over and hour and I'm still in enough pain to feel like I'm going to vomit. It's happened before but is progressively getting much worse each time. the only reason I wouldn't think it was yeast is because it's been happening for almost a year (not every time but more often as time has gone on)
Sorry if it was TMI or anything. I just didn't know who else to ask at this time of night

Could also be HPV

Could be an early warning sign of endometriosis. I didn’t seek medical attention and it got worse. The dr must be aware of it hurting during sex.

Could also be from pelvic floor issues - that’s often a cause of pain in intercourse. If you can’t find another explanation see someone who specializes in pelvic floor issues - most outbreak/gyn and gps aren’t very well informed about the issue.

Teisha - I'm in the same boat. Got checked for everything and there is nothing else wrong down there. No outbreak's present and sex is excruciating.

Has it always been painful or is this new?

Ugh I hope my Dr doesn't tell me nothing is wrong. this happened before I was diagnosed but it wasn't very often so I would just brush it off. Now it's more often but not always and it's lasting longer each time. I'm still sore and it's been since yesterday. When it happened at first I almost threw up from the pain and got really disy. It took me almost an hour to relax enough to get dressed and move around.

I'm sorry too

When I hear of others enjoying sex as usual - I feel very inadequate. Why does this hurt so much. I don't know. I don't have any answers for it.
