Does anyone have any advice on taking Cytomel? I’m on 137 mcg of Levo and 20 mg of Cytomel. I’m suppose to take the Cytomel twice a day in 10 mg increments. I took my second dose at 3 pm yesterday and had the worst time falling asleep. Does it matter if you eat food with it?

Also, has anyone had any luck loosing weight with Cytomel? Thank

I would take first dose early morning when ya get up and then the second dose at lunch. That’s a super high dose so please watch for heart palpitations. As for losing weight, there is no magic pill. But with cytomel you may get more energy to feel like working out.

Thank you, I feel like I have more energy but I’ve only been taking it for 2 days so I don’t know if that’s just a placebo effect. The doctor said he thought it might be too much but my TSH recently jumped to 10 from 0.57 so he’s trying to bring it back down

My dr has me on one with my levoxyl and then another before 1. I usually take it right before lunch. She said do not take it after 1 or else I would have sleep issues. Good luck!

I'm only on cytomel. I stopped taking levo after my surgery. Is that normal?

I’ve been reading forms online and it seems like most people are only on Cytomel. I have Hashimotos disease and previous thyroid cancer too so it’s probably different for me.

Jennie oh ok... that explains a lot. After treatment, you will likely be put on it.

So why cytomel and not levo? I was on levo before my surgery.

Jennie not sure why they still have ya on cytomel. But you not on levo helps put you in hypo so you will be ready for RAI.

Okay. The surgeon did tell me I'll have to go off meds and make me hypo before RAI
