I Have Tricare prime so I can go to any civilian hospital or surgeons office in our network

I am Tricare Prime also but in Norfolk so I had to do the program at Portsmouth Naval Hospital. It was over several months due to the waiting list but I paid less that $50 out of pocket in total so I have no complaints.

I have *standard...only needed 3 months (non consecutive) weight loss with my doc. I got approved with no problems with no comorbidities. If you have any other questions let me know! There were other things I did but I don’t remember which were required by surgeon versus insurance.

tanna I was BARELY at 40 BMI. I had to gain a bit to get it over the 40. Throughout the preop process they said to not lose weight and not gain any...I gained a bit and by surgery day I weighed 4 pounds more then the first day at surgeons office.

Answered 10 months ago    reply

Oh okay that makes sense I’m at 45.7 BMI so I might have to loose
Some weight but I’m prepared !

tanna yea, my thoughts on it are that they just want to see you are adopting the new habits they are teaching you. I felt it was more difficult maintaining shitty eating while keeping in mind how much I would have to change AFTER surgery.

Pagel.T
Answered 10 months ago    reply

Exactly I want to slowly get into the diet they want us to have before surgery so I’m prepared after surgery

Pagel.T
Answered 10 months ago    reply

What do you think are the biggest challenges after surgery

gailey_nancie88
Answered 10 months ago    reply

tanna head hunger. I feel hungry because there is all of this amazing food I can’t have! I also haven’t dumped-had surgery 12/20. I’ve stayed within my diet restrictions but have advanced my diet as far as texture and am doing fine. It’s scary though because I almost wish my body would tell me when I messed up!
