I just had kidney ultrasounds done this week and will get the results later in the week. I've had IBS for at least 55 years.
Good gravy. I've had bouts for 30 years, but only constantly for 2.
Homer my general practitioner put me on an anti anxiety/anti depressant and it has helped significantly, along with diet I've done very well for two weeks.
Allyson. I've had bouts since early adulthood. Antidepressants and anxiety medication didn't help me. The "jumpy gut" can be traced back on my mom's side for 3 or 4 generations. So, it's not even probably, all the current dietary faddish reasons, even though, processed food probably never helps. One son and my brother have had it, and my maternal grandmother, as well as mom. We all have nervous stomach.
Homer my mom suffered also. As far as I know we are the only ones in the family who have/had IBS. I wish I had known half of what I know now when mom was alive. I know we could have worked together and saved her a lot of the pain she suffered from due to IBS. Luckily my daughter has always eaten a very healthy diet and is very fit. Her only symptom so far is lactose intollerance. Her husband watches her diet and exercize like a hawk, encouraging her every step of the way.
