Has anyone switched from using long acting Lantus to Tresiba? And if so any opinions?

I switched from lantus to trujeo. It seemed to lower my numbers but I also gain about 15 lbs

I take Tresiba. My doctor was concerned that my morning numbers where higher than he wants so he put me on Tresiba. I am now under 100 for fasting bs.It took about a month to actually get my numbers down.

My insurance stopped covering Lantus so my doctor switched me to Tresiba. My numbers have actually gone down since I've been on it.

Thank You all . My insurance Covers it so I start the switch tonight .My new endo also took me off of Metformin .... My A1C is 6.5 but I want it a little lower. My Endo says I have OCD ...but he says he guesses that is good for a diabetic to have.... lol

I switched about 8 months ago, don't seem to have as much fluctuations in bg as I did before the switch. I like the change!

I'm a zumba instructor and a Type 1--- I was having a terrible time getting thru classes. With Treaiba I know I'm good to go! No lows during classes!

I agree that Tresiba is more stabilizing overall and seems to let me hang out in a lower range without actually going low. My A1C has been between 6.5 - 7.2 the entirety of the 13 years I have had Type 1 on and after 90 days on Tresiba I dropped to 5.6 and have way fewer lows generally and also during exercise. It seems like there is a magic floor at 80 and I can maintain levels in the 80-100 range for long periods of time without dropping low which was never achievable for me before.

That sounds great . I started it last night. One question .. my sample came with needles. The needles look a little different so does it require a different type needle then my Humalog?

I have found that sometimes I do feel alittle low... I work thru it.... don't forget... your body does make glucose... it will release glucose and bring you back up! Play it by ear!

At my last check I was 7.2... as compared to 8.9 - 10! The Treaiba does work! :)
