Probably not a great long term solution, but earlier I was having a horrible time with it too while we were out running errands. I had a Hersey kiss in my purse. Sucked on I and some saliva returned.
I actually tried that earlier with some chocolate I got for Xmas
Ashli when mine gets raw like that chocolate and sugar sting my throat
Gisele this is why I am asking for their solution , it’s raw and not helping
I just drink lots of water!! My lips would stick to my teeth if I was dry. I also chewed lots of sugar free gum. Biotine used to mars gum and stopped
my whole family has complained of this all week, and ug water seems to hurt like burning
lorelei I use biotene mouth wash and spray. Act mouth drops. Coconut oil helps some. I ALWAYS have water with me. I like to drink lemonade in between all the water. I cut calories by mixing with in sweat tea.
I haven't ever tried sweat tea.
Doesn't sound good.
I can’t drink straight lemonade, I have to cut it half and half
I drink sweat tea every day
lorelei, are you sure?
Lol unsweetened tea.
Sometimes Lemon (just to actually suck on a slice of Lemon)can help....the citric acid activities the saliva....helps me sometimes....I know it's not pleasant but it might be worth a try for you
Lemonhead candy and any gum help me
Sucking on gum drops now cause I don’t know what else to do
I’ve tried water, tea, lemon, gum, biotene, candy and can’t think of anything else to try
I have prescription meds for dry mouth. I take evoxac at least once a day for it. My rhuemy rx that and plaquenil when I was d
Lemon Lozenges with pectin
Sugar alcohols do a number on my stomach so I limit those a lot, I drink lots of water, minimum 40 oz per day.
Coconut oil keep in your mouth and split on a tissue I love. how my mouth feels
I drink water w/lemon all day. For emergency just slice a lemon and bit I to it.
Spicy food might help .... and all product with xylitol
My doc told me eating apples stimulates the salivary glands. Don't know if that's valid but worth a try.
Yes definitely Ludivina ,anything (fruits)with citric acid will help, lemons work for me.
I wonder why that is?
I've seen people mention Xylimelts. I haven't tried them yet, I'll be ordering some soon hopefully!
Xylimelts are wonderful!! I’m a teacher and it helps me so much at the end of a day of lecturing
oil pulling with coconut oil.... doesn't last a long time but at least lets me fall asleep
I drink Vitamin Water or Pedialyte when I get that dry. It helps.
I suck on ice, helps me
Lemonheads work for me
The lemons trick just doesn’t work, neither has any of the other usually tricks worked. Gonna try the apple in the morning, only have juice right now and it hasn’t done anything
Aw I'm sorry it hasn't worked, hopefully the apple will...fingers crossed for you
Great recommendations all . .also just massaging the inside of your lower jaw or underneath. . .start at the jaw corner below you ears inside the jawline and move towards your chin. . .if you saliva is thick your dehydrated drink drink drink . . .maybe add a pinch of sea salt and sweeten to help with dehydration
This definitely is the worst case of dehydration I’ve ever had, I had the flu thru Xmas and I just can’t seem to get a balance back, it’s been a miserable flare for sure
Gargle regularly with 1/2 tsp coarse salt and 1/2 tsp baking soda dissolved in warm water. Also suck sugar-free candy. This has helped me and was recommended by my gp, rheumatologist and dentist
I have tried that and it is not working.. I only have saliva while I’m sucking on candy..
Try chewing on gum
Me too, I can't even spit if I wanted to! And it makes it hard to swallow food.
Xylimelts- the best product - second is the biotiene spray but the melts are superior
I use artificial saliva, crushed ice, water and to help me sleep through some of it & prevent me drinking too much water (as this leads to frequent visits to the bathroom) I take Kalm herbal tablets.
Non alcoholic mouth wash!
