6 and the average for Asian is 23. But the sad part is because I went from hyper to hypo my diet is restricted (no egg, dairy, avoiding gluten as possible) and my period cycle is messy. It's just the fact the doctor said I am heading towards becoming overweight I felt so confused because I weekly exercise, sleeping enough and all therefore I am upset with myself. But one thing she said that stuck to me was "some people will gain weight by purely drinking water". So I guess genetics is also involved too. Do you all have any suggestion to what should I do? Thank you!
Hi Kathyrn, do you have the test results? I wonder what your doctor calls 'normal'. Also, if you feel good and your weight is more or less stable, I really wouldn't worry about it. Sometimes you gain some, sometimes you lose some. I'm really not sure why your doctor is fat shaming you like that. My BMI is similar I think, and my doctor did the opposite saying that it really is a normal weight for someone my height and build.
That's not very heavy at all.
Did you actually get your results for yourself ?
Doctors have a super nasty and lazy habit of saying the word “normal “ when its not optimal and your almost at the other end of the scale

At the end of the day, it's calories in, calories out. Every single diet type is a method to reduce calories. I'm a fan of low carb because I feel I have less cravings and desire to eat more. You cannot outrun a bad diet in the gym. When I say bad diet, I mean bad for your body, not necessarily unhealthy food. Track what you eat for a couple weeks and see what kind of calories you're consuming. Then look into lifestyle changes that may work for you long term. You cannot go back to the way you currently eat or you will gain weight.
23 BMI is good. Get another doctor!
Oh girlllll!!! I’m so sorry this Dr said this to you!! My Dr just told me that is where she wants me. (135-140) I’m 5’2 ad well and weight way more than you.
