I am learning a lot from you guys. But I'm still full of questions Question 1: did anyone get their tubes tied when they has gastric bypass surgery? I'd like to get mine tied sometime and I wanted to mention it to my primary care doctor when I go in to talk to him about getting weight loss surgery.

I figured "two birds, one stone." But I am unsure if this is ever done. Question 2: what good books or articles about weight loss surgery you recommend for a nooby to read? There is a lot I don't know and feel I should read up on.

Insurance wont cover two unrelated surgeries at the same time.

I'm actually getting my tubes taken out when I have the gastric. I got Essure to prevent pregnancy and they are causing issues so my gyno said she will do it at the same time. My insurance has no problem with it. It's actually saving them money. So I don't see why not.

I had severe PP issues with my last son and was advised to not have more kids. I'm wondering if I could have something like that done.
I'll have to speak with my doc.

I know others have had hernia surgery and gall bladder surgery at the same time. Not sure about having tubes tied but definitely ask because it would be great to just have the one recovery period.

I had no choice but to get my tubes tied after I had my son. I had the rny. I had bleeding issues after I had him.

Insurance will not cover either if you have 2 unrelated surgeries at the same time. It would also have to be performed by two different types of doctors, so you would have to get two that worked together and I don't know of any who do.
