I was just diagnosed with asthma. I was prescribed Singulair, Flovent, and an albuterol inhaler yesterday. How long until I can expect to feel better? I thought the albuterol was supposed to make everything feel better, but I still feel like I can’t get enough air.

You are restricted in your Airways with asthma all of the time the best way to describe it is when you go outside and take your hand and ball it up and rub it across the concrete payment until it bleeds watch his swell up that's how your lungs are all the time so right now the flovent is your best friend to begin to decrease the swelling and you must use it every single day in order to have the best benefits

Unfortunately there's not a magic answer to how long. Meds are variable person to person, and some meds take 2-4 weeks for full effect. I was diagnosed in March and can honestly say I haven't had one great feeling day yet. Some symptoms are decreased, others are worse with the change of seasons. It's a balancing act. Just stay in close contact with your doctor until you find relief.
