I'm anemic, but iron does not cause constipation with me. I've been taking an over-the-counter brand FEO SOL and it tends to give me diarrhea. I've read that it is laced with laxatives to prevent constipation.

Does anybody have any recommendations for iron supplements that do not have any laxative or other sorts of stimulants in them? The prescription iron that I have makes my stomach hurt. I drink a fair amount of caffeinated beverages every day so I'm assuming that's why I don't need laxatives. I take in a lot of caffeine just to function.

Go to your local organic store and if you do get constipation try "Smooth tea pills or tea" from your local Chinese grocery or Herbary,

I'm laughing because you must live in a metropolitan area. I live in rural Montana, no such option here. But thank you for the suggestion.
