Same here! And I’m in a cold climate
I live in Florida but I'm from northeast Pennsylvania so it's not like it's cold here
What are your stats? Bp hr and spo2
My bp is usually around 100/75 and my resting hr is usually about 99-103. I don't know what spo2 means, my doctor who diagnosed me is a total quack and she's not helping me at all
Spo2 oxygen lvl, do u habe a bp cuff or any machine to test?
No, im just going off of what it is when I go to the doctor and stuff.
Apparently it's abnormal that my doc didn't do any kind of monitor type tests or anything, my diagnosis kinda just went echo, stress test, tilt table. then she started putting me on meds that continually made me sick and didn't listen when I said it was making me feel awful
Yeah noooooo thats not ok! U need one so I can tell what your body needs
Beta blockers are a hard nooooo. Your bp is to low
When u start to feel your heart race or get dizzy get a cold bottle water and drink it as fast as u can
I was tried on a beta blocker that I had an allergic reaction to and then florinef which made my bp really high, made me gain 30 lbs in a month, and made me so bloated that I looked like I was stung by bees
Thank you for your help
Vitamins are a must!
Magnesium/ calcium 2 times a day
Muliti vitamin one a day
Fish oil omega 3 2 times a day
Try to work your legs out as much as possible without passing out
drink 120 oz of electrolyte water daily
These are the basics
When your bp is low u need salt
When your hr is high u need more water and food
Work on your breathing. ml breath from your diaphragm listen to guided meditation music at night to drowned out the buzzing in your ears
I get ground pink Himalayan salt amd put it on empty pill capsules amd take one every 2 hours to keep my bp up
Sorry I kind of unloaded on you lop
Invest in a wheel chair or knee scooter for long walks
Tricia thanks for sharing. Hadn't thought of making my own sodium pills (duh!?!)! Breathing exercises definitely help. this condition can have you breathing very shallow.
Yeah it helps and u control hour much salt u get. Salt messes with some ppls stomach in a horrible way
I don’t know if it’s a POTS thing since I’ve always been like that but I definitely handle the cold even worse since getting sick with it. Best thing I have found is heat packs on my extremeties and chest to try and warm up.
My heating pad gets used all year long!
Mines not even helping a little bit
Heating pad and heating blanket!
What does everyone do about staying warm when it’s 80° in the summer and you’re out
I use hand warmers. Like the ones u squeeze amd pop and they get hot
I have taken coconut oil and mixed in a little cayenne pepper. I rub this on my feet, then put on some warm socks. It helps my circulation. For me, poor circulation contributes to being unable to handle both cold and heat.
I don’t know for certain it’s POTs related, but yes I freeze. My thermostat will say it’s in the 70s and it feels like 50s to me. I also have Raynauds so maybe that’s why? Not sure. I just cacoon in a heating blanket.
I’m either always too cold or too hot. never anywhere in between haha.
It's Winter here. Temp is finally above freezing. Space heater on. Triple blankets on. Still can't get warm. And the sun is shining, snow is melting. Actually feel like I am getting sick. Yuck. All I want is to be warm.
