I take 500mg 2X a day. It really helps with joint pain and inflammation. I was outside today doing some yard work and noticed this was the first time in a while that my knees didn’t hurt at all when I bent down. I still have some joint pain, but nothing like I had before. I’ve been on it for about a year and a half now.

Oh yeah, make sure you’re not allergic to sulfa meds because it is in that category. No side effects as far as I know, other than it can stain your urine.

I took it last year in addition to plaqunil. I didn’t have any side effects for over 9-10 months. It seemed to be helping. But then I had a flair and one of the symptoms I had, I was very itchy and my doctor said I was having a allergic reaction to the sulfur. So my next step was to move to Methotrexate which I was not happy about but seems to be working and it’s almost a year now.

I do take it in addition to Methotrexate. The Methotrexate just wasn’t doing enough for me with my inflammation and my joint pain. Together, it is a good combo for me.
