I had one come back abnormal/cellular changes years ago. I think I went back 6 months later and it was normal and every pap since.
maisha, If you are worried, you could schedule another one before the year mark, but insurance might not pay. I think it's fairly common though, especially if you are young.
I had one years ago after several rounds of antibiotics, they had me follow up in 3-4 months. I’d ask if you can follow up sooner.
I’ve had the same. I was told it could be various reasons, but it wasn’t anything to be concerned about. But follow up with another pap next year.
I have a friend that has Turner syndrome. She almost always gets that result from her pap. Then she goes back and they say it's ok, just monitor. It's driving her nuts but she is fine.
I had abnormal paps my entire life. went through many years of having to have repap done every 3 months, had several culposcopies, cryosurgery a couple times. Seriously in the 30 years of getting them, they almost ALWAYS came back with some abnormality. Was never anything serious and I was happy to finally have a hysterectomy and took my cervix!
A year? No don't worry. Report tomorrow. worry.
I have had this a few times - I had a colposcopy about 2 months ago and that was fine so please don't worry
It depends on the abnormality. If it was squamous cell abnormality of undetermined significance then most Drs I have worked for repeat in 3-6 months. Did they do a HPV test with it? Some test automatically do some dont
1 year follow up is standard for those results.
